Netflix celebrates the premiere of Saudi animated series Masameer County Season 2 with a star-studded night

Netflix celebrated the premiere of its long-awaited animated Saudi production, Masameer County
Season 2, gathering press, show creators, industry professionals, content creators, and dignitaries. Held at Riyadh Boulevard, Netflix fully immersed guests in the world of Masameer County with a recreation of the animated sets and photo ops, from the symbolic Masameer County truck to the show’s iconic work desk used to sign in attendees of the event.

The opening reception was set up outdoors overlooking the Boulevard Fountain with the screening held at 4 VIP cinemas at Muvi Boutique. Netflix premiered three episodes of Masameer County, to laughter and applause from the audience.

Masameer County’s creators, Malik Nejer and Abdulaziz Almuzaini walked the red carpet interacting with guests and dignitaries. A variety of different TV personalities and influencers, including Dawood Al-Sherian, Ali Al-Alyani, Abdullah Al-Rabiah Reem Al-Sanea and Mohammed Al-Hamdan, were in attendance. Also in attendance at this event was the production team from Myrkott alongside the Netflix team.

After the red carpet arrivals and a special introduction, the audience settled in for the show and experienced stellar story writing and bold comedy. Attendees received animated greetings from Trad, the talking dog, by scanning the QR code on the popcorn, welcoming guests to the screening. The premiere event brought the Masameer County world to life.

With its exceptional writing and full-fledged narratives integrating situational comedy and exciting characters, season two of Masameer County is set to be bigger and bolder. This season follows the adventures of the misguided and foolish main characters as they get up to all kinds of wild escapades, from a daring 24-hour mission, an unexpected elevator ride, and an out-of-control rocket launch.

Created by Abdulaziz Almuzaini and Malik Nejer, Masameer County follows the comical adventures of the mischievous citizens of Masameer County. Masameer County season 1 debuted exclusively on Netflix in June 2021. This series is brought to you as part of Netflix’s five-year exclusive partnership with Saudi Arabian animation studio Myrkott, signed in 2020 to bring viewers Saudi-focused shows and films. Masameer County season 2 will be available on Netflix in 190 countries on 2nd March 2023.
