Starting with Literacy and Health Initiatives MNT-Halan establishes MNT Foundation to Champion Social Impact

MNT-Halan, the leading fintech company in Egypt and the MENA region, announced the official launch of the MNT Foundation to drive nationwide social impact rooted in empowerment, equity, and expanded opportunity. Registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity under license number 1269 in July 2025, the Foundation aims to advance Egypt’s development agenda by extending the impact of financial inclusion into broader social and economic well-being for millions of underserved individuals.
The Foundation’s vision is grounded in the belief that human potential thrives when people and communities gain access to supportive environments, meaningful opportunities, and the financial empowerment required to succeed. Its mission is to expand social and economic opportunities through programs that address structural barriers and build the skills and capabilities essential for long-term progress.
On this occasion, Mounir Nakhla, Founder & CEO of MNT-Halan, stated: “The launch of the MNT Foundation marks a strategic extension of our mission. As a company built on expanding financial inclusion and empowering individuals and small businesses, we have learned that meaningful impact and breaking the cycle of disadvantages go far beyond access to finance. The Foundation reinforces our responsibility to nurture communities, reinvest in the lives and futures of those who have shaped our success, and continue driving progress toward a more inclusive and dynamic Egypt.”
The Foundation will leverage on Halan’s digital reach and Tasaheel’s grassroots network, serving 2.6 million customers across 25 governorates, to deliver tangible impact across Greater Cairo, Giza, Upper Egypt, and the Delta. To kick-start its programs, the Foundation is committing an initial investment of EGP 50 million, enabling it to design targeted social initiatives that extend empowerment beyond finance into health, education, and sustainable livelihoods.
From 2025 to 2028, the Foundation’s strategy will center on three interconnected pillars:
● Infrastructure enhancement: Improving community integration and well-being by developing and upgrading public spaces and expanding access to essential infrastructure across Egypt.
● Human capital development: launching health convoys that will deliver nationwide mobile medical services to 40,000 citizens, alongside Literacy Camps designed to support 2,000 children who are struggling or are unable to read and write. Upcoming initiatives also include agricultural and educational programs aimed at boosting productivity and ensuring quality learning.
● Financial inclusion: establishing training programs that strengthen the resilience of micro-entrepreneurs and promote digital adoption to support sustainable income generation.
The Foundation prioritizes low-income and underserved communities, with a dedicated focus on early learning, vocational skill development for youth, essential services for adults in need, and women’s economic empowerment across all programs.
The Foundation’s grassroots-driven model aligns with the policies and programs of Egypt’s Vision 2030. By directly addressing the interconnected dimensions of poverty, health, education, and financial capability, the MNT Foundation is positioned to be a key contributor to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on reducing poverty, improving health and education outcomes, promoting gender equality, and fostering decent work and inclusive economic growth.
