Lamia Kamel Recognized With the Spring 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award by the Onsi Sawiris School of Business (AUC)

Lamia Kamel, Founder and CEO of CC Plus, Creator of Narrative Summit, and former Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Promotion, has been awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for Spring 2025 by the Onsi Sawiris School of Business at the American University in Cairo (AUC). The award honors graduates who exemplify leadership, impact, and a lasting commitment to driving meaningful change, and was presented to Lamia by Dr. Sherif Kamel, Dean of the Onsi Sawiris School of Business and Chair of the AACSB Board of Directors.
A pioneer in Egypt’s communications sector, Lamia has led high-profile campaigns across corporate, governmental, and international platforms. Through CC Plus, which she founded in 2006, she has built a legacy of strategic excellence and creative influence in public relations.
In 2016, she launched the Narrative Summit, a platform dedicated to reshaping Egypt’s global image through storytelling and innovation. Building on that vision, in 2025 she introduced the Al Rawi Storyteller Award, an initiative that celebrates authentic voices and creative expression across the region, with a focus on cultural storytelling and community relevance. Together, both Narrative Summit and Al Rawi reflect Lamia’s broader vision of societal integration and leading with purpose, bringing people, platforms, and narratives together to create a lasting impact.
Her professional journey has been shaped by a belief in the power of purpose, something she emphasized during the award ceremony. In her speech, Lamia shared: “Being named the Spring 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient is a personal milestone and a celebration of this community’s commitment to growth, resilience, and transformation. These are values that have defined my career and who I am today.”
During the ceremony, Lamia Kamel delivered a series of inspiring messages and valuable advice to the graduates, highlighting three fundamental life lessons that resonated with the audience. She emphasized the importance of staying connected, explaining that success is not a solo endeavor but rather a result of building genuine and strong relationships within one’s community. Moreover, she urged graduates to adopt a global mindset, underscoring that AUC alumni are part of an extensive international network and should strive to make an impact beyond local boundaries. Finally, she encouraged the young audience to take pride in their roots and identity, celebrating the rich heritage of their great civilization.

Presented each semester, the Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes AUC graduates who have demonstrated excellence in their fields and who continue to contribute to their communities and industries with vision and integrity.
Lamia Kamel holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration from AUC. She has also completed specialized training in crisis communications and public relations strategy in London.
