Hikaru Shipping Line launches 3 new routes linking Asia, Africa, and Europe

LATT Trading & Shipping, the official agent of Hikaru Shipping Line and its logistics services in Egypt, announced the launch of three new maritime routes connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe. The move comes as part of the company’s strategic expansion plans for the upcoming fiscal year.
According to Abdelrahman Leheta, The Executive Director at LATT , the first of the new routes—designated FMX—originates from Alexandria and follows the path: Alexandria – Istanbul – Izmit – Alexandria – Jeddah – Port Klang – Nansha – Qingdao – Shanghai. This service establishes a direct and efficient link between Egypt and China, offering competitive transit times designed to enhance bilateral trade.
Leheta noted that the second route, ITX, links key ports such as Alexandria, Istanbul, Evyap, Izmir, Mersin, Aqaba, Jeddah, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra—strengthening trade corridors between North Africa, the Middle East, and India.
He further explained that the third route, IMS, launches from Damietta Port and connects several major hubs including Alexandria, Izmir, Istanbul, Evyap, Mersin, Damietta, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Jeddah. This route offers customers greater flexibility for shipping between Europe and Asia.
The company began its operations at Sokhna Port and rapidly expanded to Alexandria and Damietta, underscoring the growing trust the company has earned in the region’s maritime logistics sector.
Hikaru boasts a sizable fleet of specialized containers, including Flat Rack units designed for oversized and out-of-gauge cargo, alongside Dry Van (DV) containers suitable for a wide range of goods. This allows customers to ship their freight with ease—whether industrial, commercial, or uniquely tailored—highlighting the company’s dedication to delivering comprehensive and efficient shipping and logistics solutions.
Established in Dubai in 2012, Hikaru has developed a robust global network that spans over 40 ports across the Red Sea, Middle East, Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, East Africa, the Far East, and the Indian subcontinent.
The company maintains a strong track record of performance and strategic growth across key maritime hubs—not just in Egypt, but throughout the wider region—while signaling further innovation and expansion in the near future.
