Spectacular Opening of the Third Edition of the “Empowerment Through Art” Forum at the Grand Egyptian Museum
Amid an inspiring atmosphere and a distinguished international presence, the third edition of the “Empowerment Through Art” Forum, organized by the Artoday Foundation for the Arts, was inaugurated at the Grand Egyptian Museum. The event runs through May 20, featuring the participation of over 200 female artists from more than 35 countries across various continents.
The opening ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering of public figures, ambassadors, diplomats, and prominent personalities from the worlds of art, culture, and media from Egypt, the Arab region, and around the globe. It was an unprecedented celebration of women’s creativity and the role of art as a driving force for empowerment and change.
The “Empowerment Through Art” Forum is an international platform that aims to highlight women’s artistic achievements, promote cultural dialogue, and reinforce the values of peace, justice, and equality through artistic expression. Its program includes a visual art exhibition, interactive workshops, live painting sessions, panel discussions, and open talks with professional artists from diverse backgrounds.
EHAF 2025 is held under the patronage and support of several ministries and major institutions, including:
The Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, the UNHCR, UN Women, the Spanish Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, and the Yunus Emre Institute of Turkey.
This third edition features participation from a wide array of countries, including:
Germany, Belgium, Italy, China, Finland, South Korea, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Mexico, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Brazil, the United States, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Palestine, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, India, Ethiopia, and New Zealand alongside a large number of Egyptian female artists from various generations and artistic backgrounds.
Artist Shereen Badr, founder and CEO of the Artoday Foundation, expressed her pride in launching the third edition of the forum from the heart of the Grand Egyptian Museum, stating:
“We chose this exceptional location to stand as a testament to the power of art in uniting cultures and empowering women around the world. This forum is not merely an art exhibition; it is an open message to the world that the voice of women can be heard through creativity and beauty, and that art is a powerful tool for societal transformation and civilizational dialogue.”
Badr added that this year’s edition includes a rich program featuring discussions on the development of modern art, workshops led by international female artists, and a special focus on integrating people with disabilities into the creative process reflecting the foundation’s belief that art is a universal and inclusive language.

A cooperation protocol was also announced between the Artoday Foundation and the Women’s Museum in Bonn, Germany, which includes a travel grant for five Egyptian visual artists a significant step toward fostering international cultural exchange.

The event is supported by Rosa Flowers, Sanad Foundation, and Fresh Farm, with EgyptAir as the official carrier and Jupiter Commz as the public relations partner.
The forum continues through May 20, showcasing a vibrant convergence of cultures through creativity and reaffirming its mission of empowering women and amplifying their voices on both regional and international levels.
