AngloGold appoints Hoda Mansour as Managing Director of Sukari Gold Mines

AngloGold Ashanti plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Eng. Hoda Mansour as Managing Director and Vice Chair of Sukari Gold Mines, the largest gold mine in Egypt.
As part of a strategic partnership, AngloGold Ashanti operates the Sukari mine in collaboration with the Egyptian government. In November 2024, AngloGold Ashanti acquired Centamin PLC, which was listed on the London and Toronto Stock Exchanges, and was the operator of Sukari Gold Mines. AngloGold Ashanti is headquartered in Denver, USA, and is the fourth-largest gold producer in the world.
A highly experienced executive, Eng. Mansour joins Sukari from IFS, a global provider of industrial AI solutions, where she was COO for Asia Pacific, Japan, Middle East and Africa. Ms Mansour previously served on the Centamin plc board where she was a member of the board Audit & Risk and Sustainability Committees.
“Hoda brings 25 years of exceptional experience in executive roles and is widely recognized as a business leader in the region,” said AngloGold Ashanti Chief Executive Officer Alberto Calderon. “Her deep expertise and proven leadership will be invaluable as we continue to pursue operational excellence and sustainable growth in Egypt.”
Track Record in Global Business
Eng. Mansour has held senior roles with some of the world’s leading multinational software companies including SAP, Oracle and Microsoft. She has worked in regional and global capacities based out of three different continents – Europe, Asia and Africa.
She holds a B.Sc. in Engineering with Distinction & Honors from Alexandria University in Egypt and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
Prior to working at IFS she was with global software developer SAP for 10 years where she was the first person to hold the role of COO for the United Arab Emirates and Oman, and the first woman appointed managing director in SAP’s Middle East and Africa Region.
Since 2018 until today, Eng. Mansour has been recognised by business magazine Forbes Middle East as one of its Top 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen and in 2022 the magazine named her one of the Top 5 Women in Technology.
She is a Non-executive Director of Egypt’s Commercial International Bank, where she is board head of the Sustainability Committee, and member of the Operations & Technology Committee.
Eng. Mansour also has a number of other affiliations including her appointment, by Presidential Decree, as member of Egypt’s National Council for Women. She is a member of the board of the Egypt’s American Chamber of Commerce.
A Key Member of the Team
“Along with her deep business experience and understanding of the regional business environment, Hoda brings an understanding of our operations as well as a track record in leading teams to drive sustainable competitive advantage,” said AngloGold Ashanti Senior Vice President Marcelo Pereira. “I’m pleased to welcome her as a key member of our team.”
“I am extremely excited to join AngloGold Ashanti’s team in the capacity of Managing Director of Sukari Gold Mines,” said Eng.
