Egyptian Food Bank Expands Developmental Impact through Eid Wahda Initiative Supporting 2.9 million Beneficiaries

Under the National Alliance for Civil Development Work’s Umbrella

The Egyptian Food Bank has announced its participation in Eid Wahda Initiative, the fourth comprehensive development Initiative under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. This initiative aims to provide the largest possible quantity of food supplies to Egypt’s most vulnerable groups as part of the Egyptian Food Bank’s ongoing efforts to support families struggling to access adequate food and to ensure the equitable distribution of services, contributing to comprehensive development.

The Initiative is set to cover all 27 governorates in Egypt, with plans to distribute approximately 6.8 million packaged meals and more than half a million food parcels, reaching over 2.9 million beneficiaries.

“We are proud to partake in Eid Wahda initiative, remarked Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank, The Egyptian Food Bank aims to achieve the goals of the initiative and provide needed support to those in need, emphasizing that the bank will continue its developmental efforts to achieve new successes in serving millions of beneficiaries and ensuring a dignified life for the residents of villages and hamlets across rural Egypt.” remarked Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank.

Eid Wahda initiative , the fourth comprehensive developmental initiative of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, aims to serve more than 1.5 million families from the most vulnerable groups. The initiative seeks to provide comprehensive support, extending beyond food aid to include financial assistance, healthcare services, and awareness programs, to improve the quality of life for hard-working, underprivileged communities.

The Egyptian Food Bank’s membership in the National Alliance for Civil Development Work is a key part of its mission to promote the principles of volunteerism, development, and community service. Being a part of the Alliance also allows the Egyptian Food Bank to expand its database of vulnerable groups, enabling it to extend its services to a larger number of vulnerable individuals.

Notably, the Egyptian Food Bank has previously participated in similar successful initiative, playing a pivotal role in last year’s Ketf Fe Ketf initiative, which resulted in the distribution of more than 4 million food parcels across the country’s 27 governorates, targeting the most vulnerable groups. The Egyptian Food Bank intends to continue its efforts and contributions in the coming periods to create greater impact and provide more substantial support to the community.
