Cairo, Egypt, August 9, 2026: Holcim Egypt, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable building solutions (formerly Lafarge Egypt), has announced a strategic partnership with Baheya Foundation to contribute to the construction of the Foundation’s new hospital in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement. As part of the partnership, Holcim Egypt will supply approximately 2,000 m³ of low-carbon ready-mix concrete to support the preparatory works of the project. The announcement coincides with the inauguration of Baheya Foundation’s Early Detection Unit and the groundbreaking ceremony for its new hospital, reflecting Holcim Egypt’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and capabilities to support healthcare and development initiatives that create lasting social impact.
Holcim Egypt will supply the ready-mix concrete required to implement this year’s site preparation works at the new hospital, helping accelerate construction progress while delivering high-quality infrastructure with a lower carbon footprint that meets the highest standards of safety and sustainability. The partnership also highlights the pivotal role of the private sector as an active partner in supporting the efforts of the government and civil society to advance the healthcare sector and improve citizens’ quality of life. Social Impact is a core pillar of Holcim Group’s global strategy, which is built on driving sustainable growth while creating a positive impact on communities. Once completed, the new hospital is expected to serve approximately 500,000 patients annually, while the Early Detection Unit will provide screening and early diagnosis services to around 21,000 women each year, further strengthening Baheya Foundation’s efforts to expand its services and reach a greater number of women.

Baheya Foundation is currently advancing the development of its new branch in the Fifth Settlement, where excavation and preparatory works for the first phase have already begun in collaboration with several supporting companies, with the aim of expanding capacity and reducing the growing waiting lists. The Early Detection Unit has already been completed through the refurbishment and repurposing of modular units previously used during the construction of Baheya’s other branches, transforming them into a fully equipped screening center that will operate until the completion of the first phase of the hospital’s main building. The unit represents an important step in enhancing opportunities for the early detection of breast cancer, contributing to higher recovery rates and reducing the need for complex treatment interventions. The facility includes clinical examination services, ultrasound and mammography equipment, in addition to patient waiting and preparation areas, ensuring healthcare services are delivered in a safe and dignified environment.
