In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture Art Cairo Returns to the Grand Egyptian Museum in January 2026 with Expanded Programme and Regional Gallery Lineup

Egypt’s leading international art fair dedicated to Arab art and voices, is returning to the Grand Egyptian Museum this January with an expanded programme and a regional gallery lineup. The seventh edition of the fair, running from 22 to 26 January 2026, will open with a VIP preview on the 22nd, followed by public opening days from 23 to 26 January.
This year’s edition, held under the theme, “Arab. Art. Here”, reflects on the role of Arabic language and culture as a foundation for contemporary artistic expression. The programme will also honour the legacy of Guirguis Lotfi, celebrating his influence on generations of Egyptian artists and his contribution to the country’s modern art movement.
“Art Cairo was created to build a lasting platform for artists and galleries from the region,” said Mohammed Younis, Founder and Director of Art Cairo. “With every edition, we aim to strengthen connections between local and international audiences, while keeping Arab voices at the centre of the conversation.”
Last year’s edition welcomed thousands of visitors and recorded more than USD 1.2 million in total sales, marking one of the fair’s strongest performances to date.
The 2026 edition will feature a curated group of galleries from Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, the Gulf, and Europe. Participating spaces include Zamalek Art Gallery, Mashrabia Gallery of Contemporary Art, Gallery Misr, Mark Hachem, Maya Art Space, Aramé Art Gallery, Wadi Finan Art Gallery, Orfali Art Gallery, Salwa Zeidan Gallery, Fann À Porter, Galerie SANAA, Quartum Galleri, and Folk Art Space.
Continuing its partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture for the third consecutive year, Art Cairo will once again present the “Collection from the Museum” programme. In addition, the fair will present a solo museum exhibition of pioneering Egyptian artist Inji Efflatoun, drawn from the collection of the Egyptian Museum of Modern Art.

The fair will also host a new edition of the Hiwar Programme, a series of panel discussions bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, and cultural leaders to examine the evolving dynamics of the regional art scene, from market relationships to community building through art.
In parallel, Art Cairo will curate a cultural and social programme for invited guests, featuring visits to historic palaces, museums, and leading galleries across Cairo, concluding with a guided experience at the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilisation.
