This aligns with the state’s prioritization of localizing advanced technology and enhancing applied scientific research, contributing to the modernization of the research infrastructure of the Nano Technology Center at Ain Shams University. This will also facilitate the increasing of the capacity to conduct research that competes regionally and internationally, within the framework of Egypt Vision 2030 and its objectives, particularly in supporting education and scientific research initiatives.

This donation also comes as a continuation of the support provided by MIDAR to Ain Shams University institutions. The company had previously, during 2024, made a donation worth EGP 15 million to develop the radiology department at El Demerdash Hospital and to establish a bone marrow transplant operating room for children with leukemia at the Ain Shams University Medical City. Moreover, the company had also donated EGP 2 million during 2023 to develop the ophthalmology department at El Demerdash Hospital, bringing the total contribution provided by MIDAR to Ain Shams University institutions to nearly EGP 82 million over a three-year period.

Eng. Ayman ElKousey, CEO and Managing Director of MIDAR for Investment and Urban Development, stated that the company is keen to fulfill its responsibility towards society alongside its leading role as the master developer of large-scale, integrated, modern cities in Egypt.

He noted that the cooperation with Ain Shams University for the third consecutive year reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the health and scientific sectors within the university. He added that MIDAR believes that investing in science and knowledge represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development. He also stressed that supporting the university’s Nano Technology Center stems from the company’s belief in the importance of advanced and applied sciences in addressing challenges related to industry, energy, health, infrastructure, and others.

In turn, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa El-Din Zein El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, said that this cooperation represents a leading national model for community partnerships that link scientific research to actual societal needs. He pointed out that the Nano Technology Center serves as an integrated research platform that supports interdisciplinary research and contributes to producing advanced applied research with clear economic and medical returns. This falls in line with global trends in scientific research and smart technology.

He added that Ain Shams University places special emphasis on the health sector through its university hospitals, which constitute a fundamental pillar of Egypt’s healthcare system, alongside their research and educational role. He emphasized that supporting specialized research centers represents a direct investment in human development and improving quality of life.

It is worth noting that Ain Shams University honored Eng. Ayman ElKousey during the cooperation signing ceremony by awarding him the university’s shield in appreciation of MIDAR’s role in supporting scientific research and promoting community partnership. This is particularly important as nanotechnology is considered one of the fundamental tools of scientific advancement in the modern era due to its pivotal role in developing medical, industrial, and agricultural solutions, which enhances innovation, and serves the goals of comprehensive development.
