Conclusion of the 7th “Decision Makers” Conference with Recommendations to Support the Tourism and Real Estate Sectors, Featuring Investors and Experts
The 7th edition of the “Decision Makers” Conference concluded today under the theme “Towards an Integrated Vision Between the Tourism and Real Estate Sectors to Support the Egyptian Economy.” The event saw extensive participation from leaders of major companies, investors, government officials, experts, and media representatives, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority.

The conference sessions were marked by significant attendance from various media outlets, alongside a distinguished lineup of speakers from both the public and private sectors. Notable participants included Eng. Mostafa Mounir, Executive Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism Development; Eng. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority; Eng. Tarek Shokry, Vice Chairman of the Housing Committee and CEO of Arab Development Company; Eng. Ayman Amer, General Manager of Sodic; and Eng. Samer Farag, CEO of San & Sam, the conference organizer.

Other prominent figures included Eng. Walid Mokhtar, CEO of IWAN; Eng. Nabil Amasha, Founder of Places & People; Maha Abdel-Razek, CEO of Egypt Real Estate Asset Management; Dr. Dalia Abou El-Majd, CEO of DDA; Dr. Hisham Zaazou, former Minister of Tourism; Eng. During the conference sessions, participants presented a series of recommendations, highlighting the need to stimulate investment in the hotel sector and new cities to enhance Egypt’s capability to attract more tourists. They emphasized the importance of improving tourism infrastructure and increasing property exports, which represent a significant opportunity to double the market size. Participants called for stronger partnerships between the state and the private sector, as well as innovative ideas to support tourism, such as establishing floating hotels that allow tourists to travel between various destinations like the North Coast, Ras Sidr, and Hurghada without being tied to a specific airport. The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum was noted as a strategic opportunity for promoting Egyptian tourism.

The attendees also recommended speeding up licensing procedures and increasing the availability of clear legal facilitation to support companies and developers in executing their projects efficiently. They stressed the importance of enhancing the visitor experience, which is vital for the success of any tourism destination, from the airport to the services available on-site. Additionally, they highlighted the need to focus on domestic tourism and maximize the benefits from unique local resources in each area, particularly as the integration of the tourism and real estate sectors has become a key factor in strengthening the Egyptian economy.

Participants also called for support for the export of real estate and its conversion into hotel apartments as a new product that deserves attention and effective marketing from the state.
