Embassy of Egypt and Art D’Égypte Announce Vhils as Featured Artist in “Forever is Now” 2025

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Portugal proudly welcomes Art D’Égypte’s announcement of the participation of acclaimed Portuguese artist Vhils (Alexandre Farto) as a Tier 1 artist in the fifth edition of the renowned “Forever is Now” art exhibition in Egypt, as well as the Portuguese Band “Albaluna”, noting the importance that this announcement coincides with a broader series of cultural initiatives organized by the Embassy of Egypt in Lisbon to commemorate 2025 as the 50th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Portugal.
During a cultural event H.E. Ambassador Wael El-Naggar, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Portugal, and Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, Founder of Art D’Égypte by CulturVator, together with Portuguese officials including; Graça Fonseca, former Minister of Culture; João Pinharanda, Director of the MAAT Museum; Ricardo Almeida, Head of ContraCultura; Edina Koltai, Art Department Manager at Vhils Studio; and Delfina Sena, Curator at Vhils Studio, discussed a series of potential cultural activities and events between Egypt and Portugal to be held in 2026, within Art D’Égypte “A Tale of Two Cities” project, which aims to shed light on the deep historical and cultural connections between different civilizations.
The said series will also include an exhibition of historic and rare maps used by prominent Portuguese explorers, joint contemporary art exhibitions, and the launch of an initiative for the digitalization of museums, and the organization of a musical performance by the internationally acclaimed Portuguese Fado singer “Ana Mariza” in Egypt during the Forever Now week.
It is worth mentioning that the fifth edition of “Forever is Now”, Organized by Art D’Égypte and set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Pyramids of Giza, represents a major milestone in strengthening cultural exchange between the two nations. The inclusion of Vhils, internationally celebrated for his distinctive wall carvings and urban art interventions, underscores the global prestige of the exhibition. His works have been featured in leading institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and MoCA Shanghai. His participation in “Forever is Now” marks a defining moment in the ongoing dialogue between ancient heritage and contemporary artistic expression on the world stage.
