The Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company (ACUD) has won the “Smart City Initiative of the Year” award at the Big 5 Impact Awards for the Middle East and Africa. The event, organized by the British group dmg events, honors pioneering initiatives and projects in the construction and development sector, based on sustainability and digitalization standards. This recognition reflects ACUD’s ambitious vision and successful implementation of a sustainable smart city model that leverages modern technologies to enhance quality of life and urban service efficiency.
The New Administrative Capital has adopted a smart infrastructure for data transmission based on fiber optic cables (FTTX) and Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. These feed real-time data to the City Operations Center (COC), enabling management of all city services and traffic flow through advanced technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
Previously, ACUD was awarded by the LivCom Awards for its initiatives in smart cities and sustainable development, further confirming its excellence and uniqueness as a pioneering model both locally and internationally.
These awards are a culmination of the Administrative Capital’s strategic approach as a smart city, and the company’s commitment to obtaining international accreditations. ACUD has already received the Tier 3 Certification for managing the New Capital’s data center and is actively pursuing additional certifications and participating in international competitions and forums to solidify its identity as a smart and sustainable city. This also contributes to advancing urban planning standards in Egypt and positioning it among leading global cities.
Such awards and certifications stand as testimony to the success of the New Administrative Capital in establishing itself as a distinguished model of smart and sustainable cities, and reaffirm its commitment to further elevating the standards of Egyptian cities according to the latest global benchmarks.
