Renowned BBC Historian Bettany Hughes to Participate at the Ninth Edition of Narrative Summit This April 2025

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the highly anticipated ninth edition of the Narrative Summit is set to take place from April 7th to April 9th, 2025, at the breathtaking Red Sea. The summit will be led by the private sector and will feature the participation of esteemed officials, experts, and top business leaders from both the local and international scenes.

Among the prominent international speakers attending the event are award-winning British historian and BBC broadcaster Bettany Hughes, and globally acclaimed creative photographer Mario Testino.

Bettany Hughes is a celebrated historian, author, and television presenter who has dedicated the past 25 years to extensive historical research. She has a profound passion for ancient Egyptian civilization and has produced two acclaimed documentaries on the subject under the titles “The Ancient Worlds: Egyptian Civilization” and “The Nile: Egypt’s Great River”. Hughes was also the first female historian to present a historical series on BBC.

With over 50 documentary films and radio programs to her credit across BBC, Netflix, Discovery, and other platforms, Hughes’ work has garnered numerous prestigious awards. Her programs attract a steady global audience exceeding 500 million viewers. She is also a best-selling author, with her book “Istanbul: A Tale of Three Cities” making it to The Sunday Times bestseller list and earning a nomination for the Runciman Award. The book has been translated into 15 different languages.

Joining her at the summit is Mario Testino, a world-renowned photographer, creative director, and visionary storyteller. Recognized as one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers of our time, Testino’s work has been showcased in prestigious museums worldwide, including the National Portrait Gallery in London, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

Spanning a remarkable career of over 40 years, Testino has made groundbreaking contributions as a creative director, photographer, editor, art collector, and entrepreneur.
